Blog-A-Bull Lays Down the Plan For Chris Bosh

by Ricky O'Donnell on March 16 at 1:37PM

So the Bulls enter tonight's game at Memphis as losers of seven straight. Looking at the schedule, this could easily get to 10 or 14 consecutive losses. Things are not good.

How not good? ESPN Chicago's Bulls guy just tweeted their starting lineup for tonight. Shield your eyes!

bulls-suck.jpg
The Flip Murray-Pargo-Acie Law trifecta is like 1998-1999 Bulls type stuff. That team won 13 games.

The Bulls aren't even that good when everyone is healthy, needless to say they are quite pathetic when their four best players are hurt or suspended. They'll probably lose by 100 tonight.

But instead of moaning about the Bulls' horrible luck, let's look at the bright side: the season has just 17 games left, and then it's free agency time.

With the Raptors in a Bulls-like free-fall, Matt's got a plan to get Chris Bosh here this summer....

Chris Bosh was unhappy even before his team's loss Sunday night in Portland, and you'd have to think that the Raptors sliding so far in the second half of the season to where they actually lose their spot in the playoffs (to a team like the Bulls!) punches Bosh's ticket out of Toronto this offseason. And then the Bulls can say, hey: even through our season of roster-stripping, poor planning, injuries, bad coaching, and more injuries, our team didn't give up and we made the playoffs. Imagine what we can do with you here as well. That and the max contract may be enough, may not (honestly, trying to figure what these guys are going to do seems more foolhardy by the day, but that's what the franchise is banking on themselves), but it won't be as much about what the Bulls did this season as it was preventing the Raptors from doing, and that's something we can still reasonably root for.
I'm down for this.

For the record, I still do think the Bulls will probably make the playoffs. Every year they win five of their last seven games and sneak in. It's like clockwork. Once Noah comes back, why couldn't it happen again?

But seriously: go this season over ASAP. I'm so sick of this team.

Dubs Dread: Cha Cha Cha Cha CHANGES!!! Chicago and Free Agency.

by Dubs on January 22 at 11:24AM

The off-season is the time for our team's greatest changes. With free agency dominating our major sports, change is inevitable. Some of our GM's make good off-season free agent signings--Marian Hossa and maybe Ted Lilly come to mind from the recent past, but our GM's, in this city at least, have a tendency to fuck shit up. Cubs GM Jim Hendry is a renowned off-season fuck up artist--the contracts to Kosuke Fukudome, Alfonso Soriano and Milton Bradley, to name a few, have left the Cubs pretty cap tied. The Bears = fucked. With no money (i.e. free agents) or draft picks the Bears are perpetually screwed. The Blackhawks literally cap tied themselves by not filing papers on time. Probably near the top of most embarrassing things to happen in sports since the Bulls every year. And as for Kenny Williams, I feel like there is no bigger craps player in the world. He just rolls the dice and... you never really know what the outcome is going to be. In that vein, let's take a look at the one sport that is in its off-season and the moves that help define our baseball GM's, Jim Hendry and Kenny Williams.

Bulls show they belong but what's with all the offensive boards?

by Ricky O'Donnell on April 21 at 3:46AM

You wouldn't think the Celtics' frontcourt advantage over the Bulls would be that great without Kevin Garnett, but the reason the Bulls lost yesterday was because Tyrus and Noah got owned on the boards. The Celtics grabbed 21 offensive rebounds...

Monday roundup: remembering an undefeated weekend

by Ricky O'Donnell on April 20 at 12:17AM

Bulls! We'll get to Rose in a second, but I don't want his "welcome to superstardom" performance to cover up the fact that the Bulls' Game 1 win over the Celtics was a true team effort. We hear so many debates...

by Ricky O'Donnell on April 2 at 1:55PM

Good off-day for the Bulls on Wednesday. The Bobcats blew one against the Garnett-less Celtics, and Detroit got walloped by the Nets. With six games left, the Bulls have a game and a half lead for the final playoff spot...

Rickhouse praises VDN?! It happened here.(Ed. note: SlowBreaker column.)(Ed. note 2: Awesome! Because a) there were not enough refs to contain the fighting hockeymen, b) the Canucks are probably going to be the Hawks' first round playoff opponent, and c)...

A little praise for Pax and Vinny

by Ricky O'Donnell on March 29 at 8:09PM

One thing I have never believed in is jinxing. That's why I have no second thoughts saying that, with seven games left, it looks like another patented late season surge will put the Bulls back in the playoffs after a...

Thursday Roundup

by Bobby Stompy on March 26 at 11:42AM

First thing's first: Bulls-Heat tonight. If you remember the second-to-last game between these two teams, Thabo (RIP) was inexplicably subbed in for Derrick Rose in crunch time. He proceeded to turn the ball over on his inbounds pass and the...
