Kid Rock Makes A Dick Butkus T-Shirt Typo At The Cell
Not the alternative title: KID ROCK NEEDS A HISTORY LESSON.
An event like "Mullet Night" -- the annual debonair-doused party the White Sox threw Friday at U.S. Cellular Field -- cannot be launched without a spectacular guest firing the ceremonial first pitch, this much is true. Party Boy Kane probably would have been a fitting choice in 2K10. Kenny f'n Powers could have worked, too. Early era Katsopolis, even? Perhaps. But with Kid Rock in town to play to 52,000 Jack FM listeners at Solider Field with Bon Jovi, the choice was essentially made for Brooks Boyer and his people: any time you can secure a late-90's nu metal icon at your baseball stadium, you have to pull the trigger.
Since Kid Rock is nothing if not a man of the people -- large and small! -- he attempted to show solidarity with Chicago's South Side by giving a t-shirt shout-out to some local blue-collar legends. Only problem: he misspelled Dick Butkus' name.
Amateur move, Bob. Amateur move.
