U-S-A, All The Way! Uh... Right?

Until they get eliminated (or I forget about this), TUP is going to attempt to try to document the affairs of Patrick Kane and the USA hockey team.

First thing's first: obligatory Mighty Ducks/Team USA picture.

Though, maybe TUP should actually be covering Canada. Why? A few reasons.

1) Canada has more Blackhawks: Toews, Seabrook, and Keith, by my count.
2) Host country: It'd be kinda cool to see them win playing at home.
3) Spineless front running: Let's face it, they're better. They might be in this longer.
4) The real reason: If this video doesn't sway you, I don't know what will.


It's pretty much already swayed me. But that's the power of Pac. Here's how the plan will probably go: we'll ride America until they lose, then hop on the Canada bandwagon if it's still going. Hooray, contingency.

Team USA is actually playing Switzerland right now. Knowing nothing, I defer totally to Second City Hockey's terrific previews.

TEAM AMERICA, FUCK YEAH! vs. SWITZERLAND: USA at 2pm Central

Jonas Hiller could make this interesting for a period or two, but the Swiss really shouldn't be able to stay with the Yanks for an entire game.  If they do, to quote Hawk Harrelson, "THAT'S TROUBLE!".  Will be interesting to see what lines the US comes out with.  Practice yesterday had the predicted Kane-Stastny-Parise line, which should do some damage.  Dustin Brown-Ryan Kesler- Jamie Langenbrunner is a hell of a checking line, so I can only assume Pavelski is playing with Kessel  and Bobby Ryan, but we shall see.

+1,000,000 for any Olympic hockey preview which seamlessly references the Hawk.

To the game! A Bobby Ryan goal late in the first period put America up, 1-0. So right now, that's where we're at. Also, stupid Roenick is one of the talking heads at halftime intermission (man, I'm stupid). So... that's somethin'.
