Spin: The pick traded for Adams is believed to be a
second round selection. Adams should help bolster the Bears' already
stellar defensive front, although it's unlikely he'll play against the
Falcons this week.
[Adams] had been a disappointment in his first two seasons under coach Jon
Gruden. He was supposed to get a fresh start under coach Raheem Morris.
Defensive coordinator Jim Bates spent much of the offseason working on
pass-rush moves with the defensive end.
But Adams had one sack
and 10 tackles in Tampa Bay's first three games. That apparently caused
the Bucs to give up on Adams as they go through a rebuilding process.
Adams had six sacks as a rookie and 6 1/2 last year.
"First of all, I want to thank the Buccaneers for giving me the
opportunity, and for picking me in the draft,'' Adams told the
Sun-Times. "This is the nature of the beast, though, and this is a new
start for me. I wish them the best of luck and I am just glad to be a
Bear.''
After the Cutler trade, I don't like the idea of trading any more early round picks. Plus, do the Bears really need another D Lineman? If anything, they need serious help on the Oline.
This is a good trade. There not gonna bring back a 33 year old Wale after all his ups and downs plus he will want a lot of dough if he has a solid year, more than hes worth. Some moron will probably overpay for Anderson too thinking they can turn him back to his rookie self. That leaves Brown as the only starter so they would have drafted one with one of their higher picks and now they have time this year to see how good he is or decide if they wanna go after a free agent, which they probly would've done anyway.
I like this trade. Miranelli wanted to pick this guy at 2nd overall in 2007. I dont care if we lost the 2nd rounder. We get a DE with tremendous upside potential who has proven he can do something in this league. and will be on our roster thru 2012 (i think?) thats better than possibly spending the draft pick on another Dan Bazuin
