The White Sox get a big, fat C- from me this weekend, but in TUP's continuing quest to
stay positive, let's look at some good things. Like jinx smack talk!
Take it away,
Buehrlot.
''It's one of those superstitious things that I don't go by because you
hear announcers bring it up when they have to tell the audience what's
going on [and] guys in the other dugout are saying it,'' Buehrle said.
''In this instance, facing Tampa Bay, fans at home or in the bars are
saying it, trying to jinx me, so I don't believe in it.''

MOUTHPIECE's Ryan Corazza
gets it, too.
But the notion that what I type to a friend over the Internet is
somehow going to affect Buehrle's performance on the field, that it's
going to jinx him, well that's just silly. I could have run out onto
the streets of Chicago yesterday, equipped with a megaphone and shouted
it to the entire Loop, and it wouldn't have made a damn bit of
difference.
People. They are getting smarter.

Bobby Jenks: not bad,
just unlucky.
Over his last six outings, Jenks has allowed 13 hits, seven earned
runs and four walks, and he has a 9.45 ERA. He said his latest outing
was bad luck, not bad pitching.
"Yeah, I mean an ass-out slider swing falls in for a bloop single
because we were playing no doubles," Jenks said. "Broken bat by a pinch
hitter, then a ball that's fair for maybe two seconds ... tip your hat,
hang with 'em."
Agreed. (Seriously.) Saturday's blown save was BS. But if nothing else (positive!), at least the Sox ended on a high note with yesterday's 5-1 stone cold stunning in Detroit. A homer and steal for
'Bacon'? Yes, please.
Back in the afternoon, maybe?
I just heard about 'Bacon' for the first time this weekend. How much of a threat is this to become a real (read: non-internet/non-blogger) nickname?
My favorite was always 'Creed' for 'Crede.' This is pretty funny, though.
I'm not superstitous, I'm just a little stitious.
But lets focus on the real news. 6 games left in the trashbag.
He doesn't laugh in the face of jinxes:
"As Buehrle walked to the dugout, he thought about texting Jamie again and telling her to have the neighbor wake Braden and bring him to the ballpark, but he was afraid of jinxing himself, so he held off."
