Bulls top Celtics in another classic

I'd first like to thank David Stern for not allowing NBA teams to foul when they're up three with under 10 seconds to go.

That was the only thing I was worried about at the end of regulation to be honest, because Ben Gordon has reaffirmed in this series that he's maybe the best clutch shooter in the league.

I really have the ultimate love-hate relationship with him now. His defense has been pathetic all series. It'd be one thing if he were getting killed on that end because he was defending a bigger guard who would post him up or use his size advantage some other way. But Gordon really has no excuses for the shit he's been pulling all series, like not fighting through screens and failing to defend anyone (mostly Allen) with any sense of pride. But then he hits that shot, grabs his crotch, and all is forgiven.

You really can't say enough about this series. Sam Smith wrote over 3,400 words on yesterday's game alone, and none of it seems forced. It's one we're all going to remember for a long time.

At least most people will. I think I've mentioned on here before about how worked up my dad gets over games. He saw John Paxson's epic shot against the Suns in the '93 Finals from a TV at Walmart because that game was so intense that he had to leave the house. He also didn't watch the second half of the Bears-Colts Super Bowl (and what were the Bears down at halftime in that game, under a touchdown, right?), opting instead to play solitaire on the computer. I haven't talked to him yet about this one, but I can basically guarentee he didn't watch it because he knew the pressure would be just out of control.

I bring this up for one reason: if you can't get behind the stuff that's happening in this series, you don't like sports. It has given us literally everything we could ask for.

Do the Bulls have some flaws? Yes, of course they do. But how can you not just be in love with this team right now? I feel like that hasn't been reinforced enough on the Internets over the course of this series. The only words to describe them are the ones that used to make FJM explode. This is about as gritty an effort as I can remember in Chicago sports. The Bulls just keep battling and battling, and somehow this series is tied after four games.

It has been so good, so much fun that I selfishly want the next game to start right after the last one ended. Playoff hockey? Ha! Give me playoff NBA basketball any day of the week.

As long as Kobe is in da league, Gordon will play second fiddle to the clutch shot.

Pretty excited to see your Bulls have grown up this postseason!
