Thursday Roundup

heatold.jpgFirst thing's first: Bulls-Heat tonight. If you remember the second-to-last game between these two teams, Thabo (RIP) was inexplicably subbed in for Derrick Rose in crunch time. He proceeded to turn the ball over on his inbounds pass and the Bulls lost on a Shawn Marion dunk. It was awful, everyone was stupid.

The last game, if you recall, featured Dwyane Wade destroying everything in a 2OT heart-ripper-outer. Blacked it out? Here you go. 48 points, 12 assists, 4 steals. Wow. To paraphrase blink-182, Wade kills with no life to spare. People remember Wade hit the game-winning three, but you don't hear about how the Bulls had the ball in a tie game with 11 seconds left. Was it probably the team's fault but could we blame VDN anyway? Yes and yes. I mean, to channel my inner uninformed fan here, HE'S AN IDIOT.

The Bulls do have a nice win streak going -- by their mediocre standards -- so ruling out a win, especially at home, isn't totally crazy. The Heat are also playing on the second leg of a back-to-back, so maybe it's weakened them. We'll see.

Apparently, Colon looked somewhat acceptable yesterday [Fanhouse]

Though many years of his career have gone by, I still feel like my opinion of Colon is underdeveloped. The guy is just unreal. He's like everything fans want professional athletes to be -- only the exact opposite.

Bears Mocks -- 1st Round

Scott Wright: DHB (WR, Maryland)
Lombardi: Jeremy Maclin (WR, Mizzou)
Kiper ($): Tyson Jackson (DE, LSU)

The Bears also signed tackle Kevin Shaffer to a three-year deal on Wednesday.

Blackhawks scored a nice win over the Sharks via shootout. Their remaining schedule isn't particularly favorable, so a big win like this came at a great time.

And finally... maybe it's me, but doesn't it seem like one state is more invested in adding additional NFL games to the regular season than the others? [ESPN.com]

I think Miami will come out very focused, because they are potentially playing to clinch their playoff spot tonight. Plus, they lost to the Pacers last night!

Well, that was a little easier than expected..
