(Kenny Williams) "Now, there are a lot of good teams that don't have the traditional
Rickey Henderson leadoff guy, and they're successful. We've had to make
do without one. But I'm going to keep working on it.''
Working on it, however, doesn't necessarily mean trying to acquire Juan
Pierre and his overinflated contract from the Los Angeles Dodgers, as
several sources indicated this week. Even with Pierre reportedly
willing to restructure his deal, it's not a fit Williams seems ready to
explore with more than three weeks left in camp.
I was honestly starting to get worried. In more leadoff hitter news, SSS has a post up you should probably check out.
More Hardball wants to know who has the hottest fans in baseball. We've be running a set of posts over the past month or so featuring images of each teams' hotties, with a voting poll to crown a champion. Each division in each league has been decided so now it's time for the playoffs. In both the American and National League we have Los Angeles versus Chicago...cat fight! Also featured is a good old fashioned ho-down between Beantown and Oakland. Lets not forget about the City of Brother Love against "Houston we have a problem"...let the games begin!
I think the biggest question is who in gods name would ever compare ricky henderson to juan pierre. the only similarity in the two's games is that they are fast. Ricky was one of the best OBP and SLG for the leadoff spot ever. Pierre is well, the opposite. This is just dumb for anyone to make that comparison.
I see what your saying, but it definitely implies it. Bad paragraph structure or transition or something. I could just be because I hate Cowley's bias.

I don't really think he's comparing them at all...
I really hate the Bulls.
