Monday links

A) How did that HatGuy post not get some Deadspin love? I thought that shit was money in the bank, yo. If we could only go back to the Leitch days, maybe I could get a little recognition over here.

Anyways, it's Monday and that means my SlowBreaker column will be up at 11 a.m. It includes some not-very-interesting A-Rod thoughts, and another plea for Amare, amongst other things.

T-minus six days until White Sox pitchers and catchers report

A few quick notes:

- The Giants are on the verge of becoming my N.L. team. And if they find a way to get Manny, it's a slam dunk.

- If this blog was written by Joe Cowley, the headline would probably be something like "O-Cab continues to screw the Sox even after he's gone!". From Compensation Draft Pick Watch:

Getting Cabrera at a bargain rate might not be a given. A source said that he has considered sitting out until after the season starts if offers aren't to his liking.
A whole year off? Whooo party!

I actually didn't hate Cabrera as much as some people did (though I'd oppose resigning him - which would never happen anyway because Ozzie hates his guts but work with me here guys -  because I think Chris Getz is going to be really, really good) but, seriously dude, hurry up and sign with some team so the Sox can get their compensation pick already. I don't like this dilly dallying.

Both links found in SouthSideSox threads, natch.

The people have been clamoring for a "The future is bright for Illini basketball!" post (since I know a bit about all the kids they've got coming in), so maybe I'll cook that up in the next day or two. Scott, if you're reading, you wanna help me out with that, brah?

Finally, how did I miss these new pics our humble QB hammered? The answer, of course, is because they're on BustedCoverage, which I can't read because I own a high school diploma. But whatever, Drunk Orton will get a link here any day of the week.

Update

Apparently Stompy and I have wrote something at the exact same time again - which is even funnier this time considering it's 2:45 AM as I type this - so go check out his Pro Bowl live blog below. He even mentioned the blink reunion, which I held out against temptation from bringing up. I didn't catch the Grammys but I did hear that they looked pissed at each other or something. Also heard Radiohead was awesome.

To: Stereogum, Pitchfork,

We're going to need some video of that ASAP, especially since they played 15 Step, which is my fav song on In Rainbows. Thanks.

Update 2

I have found everything I was looking for. Radiohead video (awesome, but why does it look like only Thom and JG are on stage?),"official" blink "press release" and video of them presenting. All fine and dandy, but, uh, it seems like they should have announced this reunion at the VMAs not the Grammys. I don't think anyone in that building really gave a shit.

So...?

I'm down, though I always thought if we ever met it would be at the Get Up Kids reunion show. It just seems logical.
