And, as always, the voice of reason is Jay Mariotti. Wait,
what?
At last, I am convinced, the longest-running annual vigil in
professional sports has ended. The process has been as maddening as a
three-foot pothole, the way Favre hijacked a nation's attention span
and dragged us through his emotional taffy pulls the last few
offseasons. Had he taken one more plunge into limboville and made the
New York Jets and the football world wait many more days, weeks and
months, he would have placed a permanent stain on his legacy. Know how
ridiculous the mind game was becoming? Flip-flipping in this country
was known as "pulling a Favre.'' The most fun, entertaining football
player of our generation was turning into an insufferable diva.
Flip-flopping in Chicago, though, is of course known as known as "pulling a Mariotti". I may have done it
once or twice, and let me tell you, it is not something to be proud of.
But yeah: Whoooo, Favre is finally gone forever! Here,
check out our best anti-
Favre stuff.
I guess it's possible some might be a little bummed out by the fact that they'll never get to actively hate their arch-enemy again, but to be honest, I am just so glad he's gone.
And please Brett, for the love of all that is good, let this be it. Just reading the last paragraph on
AJ's post today was enough to make me want to destroy everything.
Yeah. I guess that makes it official. For now. That is until Favre
receives the inevitable phone call from Brad Childress which will
rattle the Ol' Gunslinger into rethinking his decision once again.
I think he's gone forever, though. Let's hope so.

I've got some time to kill tomorrow afternoon, so maybe I'll do another Amare post if anything juicy happens by then. Though if the Suns do decide to deal Amare, it'll be
hard to top Portland.
Pax has got to be the most cautious GM in the NBA...dude has yet to pull a trade...a single trade after drafting Derek Rose and knowing he needs to clear up the backcourt situation and get a good big. I blame this season entirely on Pax from the hiring of My Cousin Vinny to his inability to pull the trigger on a trade thusfar.
Portland pulled their offer so we don't have to worry about topping them. They are more interested in an elite point guard than big man.

It looks like Bulls and Heat in the running for Amare.
not comin back
7/3/07, you wrote: "Jared Allen (one of my fav non-Bears in the NFL, though now that he’s a Viking that may change)"
I hope it has changed. I cringed reading that.
Yeah didn't you see the comment I left on your Pro Bowl blog? You convinced me, the guy sucks.
The loan suppose to be important for people, which are willing to start their own career. By the way, this is not really hard to receive a college loan.
