It was only a matter of time, you see.

Sox get

RHP Charlie Morton, 25
C Tyler Flowers, 22
2B Brent Lillibridge, 25

Braves get

SP Javy Vazquez
RHP Boone Logan

The only player I've heard of in the trade is Morton, who used to be a top prospect. There are probably some parallels between him and Gavin Floyd, who obviously worked out pretty well for the Sox last year. Flowers seems to be the biggest catch in the deal. He's young but has good plate discipline and power potential (288/.427/.494 season at High-A).

So far, I think I like the trade. Vazquez could strike guys out but was too 'boom-or-bust' most of the time. He also, of course, sucked when the Sox needed him most. This trade probably makes the Sox worse next year (unless Kenny uses the $10 mil he just wiped off the books on someone else) but Morton and Flowers look pretty promising. The Sox also now appear to have four legit prospects (Becks, Viciedo, Poreda, Flowers) which is kinda of weird but very cool.

Check SouthSideSox for more info.

I like it. Even if Javy pitches well next year it will be because he's in the NL.

Imagine if Kenny never traded for Javy. There would have never been this whole problem at center field.

Yeah, but then we might never have had the 'good graces' with the D'Backs to make the trade for Q in the not-so-distant future post-Javy trade.

Yea but that's just speculation. A Quentin, Young, Dye outfield would have been incredible.

I thought Jo-Jo Reyes was part of the trade as well?
