massive letdown of a promise (claiming he'd watch/write about the Bulls-Atlanta Hawks game... though after the Horford decimation, who'd blame him for taking a day off?), we've had a bit of a void here. I'm filling it with a quick Blackhawks update.
After a
little mini-scandal with the ESPN power rankings, they're
back in business after a brief hiatus. Our Hawks came in at No. 5 this week. I know you don't need WithLeather here to tell you that power rankings are, in general, meaningless, but they're always a nice mid-week filler and can spark good debates. So some questions/thoughts...
- Are the Hawks really this good?
- Is this the highest we've seen them ranked during this generation?
- I know they lost to Boston in OT last night, but did anyone see the
beatdown of the Calgary Flames on Sunday (6-1)? The Hawks were clicking all over the place, and Toews even scored his first goal. Plus there were, like, 8 fights/scuffles. We need to say scuffle here more.
- When will Chicago lose their first game, outright, at home?
- I get the feeling that Kane is emerging as the ladies' favorite, but, with Toews as captain, which of the two young guns will end up becoming the No. 1 fan favorite? Or is it possible they'll always be intertwined (like a Papi/Manny-type thing)?

I'm a Toews guy, but it feels like a dead heat between the two.
My bro saw PK the other day at the bar and told me he is an absolute drunk (falling down, slurring, etc) and was saddle next to a "hot black chick", so my vote is for PK.
