- Even though I know Stompy has professed his love for Tayshaun Prince before, I think everyone can agree that the Bulls shouldn’t swap Luol Deng for Prince. While Prince is the better player right now, Deng is five years younger and is the one guy on this Bulls team that should be in for the long haul with Rose. He’ll probably never be a star, but he doesn’t have to be. The Bulls can win a title eventually with Rose as their best player, and Deng, who already is a great third option, should master the role by the time Rose is ready to go.

- I’d like to thank Chicago Sports for this picture, which was literally the first thing I saw this morning. Way to ruin my day, guys.
- The Zoner says Phil Rogers really jumped the gun by predicting Jerry Manuel will win Manager of the Year.
- For me, this post clinched it. Sox Machine is the best team-oriented Chicago sports blog.
- Hey, UFC is coming to Chicago! I really care for MMA, but I’m a lot of people are pretty excited about this.
- Welcome to the first person, Kyle.
- Good for Brandon Jennings. The NBA age limit rule is moronic, and I’d expect a bunch more kids over the next five or ten years to go play overseas and get their money.

I was interested in getting favre until I saw that picture. That picture just doesn't look right and it makes me very uncomfortable.

Yikes, I know..things are, uh, getting weird for me lately. And I.
good for Brandon Jennings? No this is a terrible thing to happen, especially for a kid like Brandon. For him not to be able to get qualifying test scores while kids who have been in the United States for a year and barely speak English can it shows that this kid is selfish and misguided.
He would rather focus on throwing up gang signs and getting stupid haircuts then passing the most important test of his life.
And playing in Europe instead of the United States is stupid anyways. The thing that helps out athletes with the one year rule is that they become household names in their NCAA season instead of being no-name assassins drafted out of high school that nobody has seen play. These kids are giving themselves valuable brand recognition for the casual fan while also securing more endorsement money off of said popularity.
Plus they get the other benefits of living on their own, playing in a faster, stronger game and maturing.
And don't be naive Ricky, the top kids are getting paid to come to a lot of colleges. They're doing just fine.
Good points Scott, but I think this is a much better option for a kid like Jennings, whose sole focus is getting paid to play basketball (which I don't think is necessarily a terrible thing). He certainly would have declared for the draft had it not been for the new age-limit rule, and it would seem pointless to me for him to go through the motions at a prep school or community college when everyone knows he has no interest in his academics anyways.
Also, don't discount the high injury risk in basketball. If Jennings suffers a devastating injury in a community college next year, he gets nothing. At least he's being well compensated for playing basketball overseas now.

Prince-Deng is like trading gold for gold. I don't care either way. But if we are in this weird rebuilding/play for a little later as opposed to now, then keeping Luol makes sense.

...for someone who hates Shanoff, that sounds like it came right out of one of his columns, haha.
