Imagine this scenario: the Bulls select Derrick Rose to be the new face of the franchise, the White Sox take two of three from the Cubbies at home, and, to top it all off, the Sox cut Juan Uribe.
We're not so sure on the first two things, but the last one is imminent. It all happens when Paul Konerko comes off the DL.
Discussing the difficulty of giving equal playing time to Pablo Ozuna and Uribe, Guillen said, ''It's kind of hard for both. I wish I could play them more in the lineup. Ozuna, he gives me a lot of stuff. Obviously, if that decision had to be made tomorrow, it would be a tough decision to make. They're not going to see too many at-bats. We sat down with Uribe and I explained to him the situation and he took it like a champ, and I appreciate the way he took it.
''I mean, it's not easy when you're going to be a free agent, sit on the bench and lose your job and take it the way he's taking it. Work hard, pinch hit when he has to pinch hit, not complain, but on the other side, I love this kid. I really love Uribe. We're going to try to do the best we can to have better stuff for him -- maybe here or somewhere else. I'm not going to say somewhere else because I'm not making the move, but I'm trying to find playing time here. That's why I might play him at third base a little bit.''
Guillen stressed that when Konerko is ready to return -- he was already taking dry swings Tuesday afternoon -- the Sox will stay with 12 pitchers.
It doesn't sound like Wise will be sent down.
Let me be the first to thank the hot-hitting DeWayne Wise. Without him, none of this is possible. And to think, I cursed his recent playing time because I felt like I needed more Brian Anderson in my life.
I always become slightly disappointed when a World Series hero leaves. That year was so great, and all of those guys are equally responsible for bringing home the title. Uribe was money during the 05 playoffs (making that great catch in the stands and recording the final put out), and is a pretty good defensive shortstop. But it's impossible to overstate how bad he is offensively. The last two seasons he's posted OBP of .257 and .284. I don't care how good anyone is defensively (and he just has a strong arm, his range isn't that great, probably because he's shaped like a Dominican oompa loompa) , they can't be getting on-base as often as a pitcher in the NL does.
First Mike North (another good move), now Uribe. I feel like the Bears should have just waited to cut Cedric Benson until now. It would be fitting.

Thanks for the linkage. Now if only that opened up to my page. Some day the technology will catch up.
Fixed.
I blame my "ctrl + C" and "ctrl + v" keys
An off subject interesting bit of information...The White Sox's number one pick, Beckham, is one of the best polo players in the south-east (not water polo, the one with horses). Thought that was kind of funny/weird.
Wheel Chair Polo? Wait he's dead...do they have horses in hell?

If they cut Uribe who's going to retain the nickname "The Tripod" in the club house. Certainly not Brian Anderson from what I hear/fantasize about.
