Of all the bands that I like with really stupid names (The Arcade Fire, Margot, Arctic Monkeys), I think Spoon is clearly the stupidest. When friends ask me what music I've been listening to, I don't feel very cool telling them my new favorite band calls themselves "Spoon". This is made even worse when they name their totally rockin' album "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga", which was probably my favorite cd of 2007. That's five Ga's. In case you were wondering.
The horns in The Underdog aren't a permanent part of the band (that may be the only song they're used in), but they make that track standout: it's probably the best song on Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. With that said, Pitchfork called You Got Yr. Cherry Bomb the 12th best song of last year. It's really a testament to how killer that cd is. So go illegally download it. It'll be worth the time.
