By all accounts the Trib’s Fred Mitchell is a great guy. Terrific. The new Sam Smith, he is not.
Wade and the #2 pick to the Bulls for #1? I’m sorry but that is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Really, it’s that stupid.
In a draft that has two super studs like this one, why would Miami ever in a million years offer that deal to the Bulls? Of course the Bulls would jump all over it, but, you know, trades have to be agreed upon by two parties, not just one.
I saw the snippet on The Big Lead and then just heard TK and Wilbon talk about it on PTI. Seriously, how is this getting attention? Do people know anything about basketball?
We all get that the Heat covet Rose. They should. He is rather awesome. But it’s certifiably insane for them to offer Wade and the second pick to the Bulls to get him.
Now, for a more realistic scenario: #1 pick (plus a player to make the cap numbers work) to Miami for Wade.
This a far more realistic offer if Riley really wants Rose that much.
Only two problems: I don’t think either team would do it.
If D-Wade was healthy, this would be a great trade for the Bulls. After all, he is only 25(ish) and is one of the NBA’s ten best players. But Wade isn’t healthy. Not even close. He has the body of an old man. The Bulls shouldn’t take that risk when they can get a fresh 19-year old like Derrick Rose.
The Heat probably wouldn’t do this either. Yeah, Rose and B-Easy would set them up for a dynasty in two years, but Wade really is a hell of a player. He won that franchise their first title and seems to be an icon in south Florida.
So know more talk of this stupid trade that Mitchell just made up after today, ok? Good.

Let's just trade Thabo for Kobe and Gasol. I know we'd be giving up way too much for them but sometimes you got to shake things up.
"The Bulls shouldn’t take that risk when they can get a fresh 19-year old like Derrick Rose."
The statement was very logical and sensible, but does it read a little creepy or is it just me?
Don't get me wrong, I jump at any opportunity for a fresh 19-year old...

That trade would only be accepted by mathematicians under the assumption that canceling out the two capital letters in LeBron and JamesOn would balance the equation.
