BobbyStompy here now; expect a Rickhouse freak out very soon...

Say it with me, everybody: the Chicago Bulls are your 2008 NBA Lottery Champions!

Do you think we can get that inserted into the pre-game introductions next season?

With a 1.7 percent chance of winning, the Bulls stuck it to the Miami Heat by snatching the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft. While Chicago celebrates, I instantly wonder what we should be doing with this pick.

I debated e-mailing Rickhouse and suggesting we do a "why the Bulls should pick Rose" and a "why the Bulls should pick Beasley" post, but I figured we'd both wanna do Rose, so screw it.

I think Rose should be the pick for a few reasons...

- He's a Chicago guy, so he instantly has the full support of the fans going in, as well as the leeway of the fans if he struggles early. Kind of like if the Texans had drafted Vince Young.

- Look at every elite point guard in the NBA -- Deron Williams, Tony Parker, Chris Paul, Steve Nash -- and tell me what they have in common. It's the playoffs, baby. Plenty of teams led by great small/power forwards don't do all that much (see: the Nets, the Nuggets).

The Bulls need a player who can facilitate some offense, and Rose is clearly the guy who can do that. It's pretty safe to buy into the idea that he'd make his teammates better.

- It would instantly turn Kirk Hinrich into a pretty intriguing bargaining chip for Pax.

Would the Bulls miss out on a potential low-post scorer if they passed on Beasley? Sure, but moving Hinrich and another player of choice could lead to that in the future.

I went to a bar and got drunk for the lottery. My text messages from the night read:
"I've been kissed by a rose" and "Every rose has its thorn." That's a Seal and Poison refernence in the same sentence, deal with it, mother fuckers.

Derrick Rose, really? Wow, you guys want to pass up Michael Beasley, especially when you already have a decent point?!?

Take Beasley - you guys haven't had a low-post presence in years. He's like a young Elton Brand. Why would you pass him up, just so you can trade Hinrich at 20 cents on the dollar?
