More on him later (and by later, I mean "hopefully for the next 15 years"), but right now: how about those White Sox? They're rolling. I feel like I should save most of my Sox thoughts for the Beachwood column every Monday, but here are a few lingering thoughts:

- A lot of people bashed the Linebrink signing, but so far, he's been everything the Sox could have hoped for. He was dominant last night, striking two guys out during a perfect eighth inning. All the bullpen woes that killed the Sox last year seem to be gone.

- After a really rough start, Buehrle has now pitched great his last two outings. Even though Buehrle always puts up solid numbers, to me, it seems like he either has really good starts or really bad starts. He's rarely just okay. Say the Sox have an error in the first inning the other team scores two runs. Get ready for the flood. But if he cruises through the first three or four innings, Buehrle is usually great. Just like last night.

- I'm officially worried about Swisher. A .340 OPB is fine, but this guy is supposed to be a power hitter. Where are all the homers? The batting average (which is at like .205) needs to come up too, cause that means he'll be getting more extra base hits.

- Quentin is just an animal. The way he's going right now reminds me of Frank during my childhood or Crede during the 05' playoffs: every time he comes up, I genuinely expect a double or homer. I loved that trade at the time and I really love it now.

- The MLB Draft is coming up, and the Sox have the eight pick. This is the highest they've been in forever so they HAVE to make it count. The farm system is just too weak right now. It can't survive a bust. The guy I'd like them to get is South Carolina 1B Justin Smoak, though Georgia SS Gordon Beckham wouldn't be bad either.

A few days ago, Waiting for Next Year, a Cleveland spots blog, asked me and other AL Central bloggers to say why their team will win the division. So go check it out, and read the rest of the posts in this series too. Remember: when in doubt, make fun of the Royals. (Though those guys did say I misspelled a bunch of words, which my Microsoft Word document proves to be inaccurate)

Count me as one that didn't like the Linebrink deal. It depends how you look at it I guess. If we win it all this year and he has a dominant season--do we really care about years 2, 3 & 4? I think sometimes GMs give out these deals knowing they are going to eat a year or two, but it's simply the price of doing business in MLB today.

One thing I forgot to add:

Jerry Owens, 28, AAA numbers: .229 BA/ .587 OPS. That's, um, not good.

I've got a huge cock. just ask Joey Cora.
