Needless to say, I'm pumped up about the Sox right now. Everything is just going so well. That doesn't mean they'll end up winning 95 games or whatever, but, still, we as Chicago sports fans needed this start. Things have been too frustrating around here lately.
Note 1: Check out this awesome post on White Sox facial hair.
Note 2: Go to TTCS to see Barnes' list of top ten DHs.
Note 3: After Kansas won their first round game, I proclaimed they'd win the National Championship. Was I surprised they owned the Tar Heels that hard? Sure, but I wasn't surprised they won. Their key players (Rush, Clambers, Arthur, Robinson, Kahn) are all a little older now. Don't discount how important experience is. More importantly, Kansas led the country in both offensive and defensive efficiency according to the fine folks at Basketball Prospectus. I'm not exactly all about sabermetrics (especially in basketball, give me a break, I'm finally starting to get this baseball stuff down), but it's hard to argue against stats. Numbers don't lie, you know. That being said....Memphis by eight. Too much Rose.

Ridiculous.
Memphis is owning early, by the way.
Vazquez looked pretty shaky again, although he did recover and settled in nicely. In a completely unrelated manner, Chris Young signed a 6 year extension with the Baby 'Backs...
I haven't been listening to "One Shining Moment" every day for the past three weeks for nothing - here comes the greatest 3 minutes in all of sports, period.
I cannot believe Memphis blew that....
From Simmons a few weeks ago
"Ever since Calvin Schiraldi and Bob Stanley self-destructed in Game 6 of the '86 World Series, I've been a big believer that microcosms mean more than you think in sports. Yeah, the Red Sox might have been one more out and 14 different pitches away from winning the title -- hold on, I'm gonna slam my head against the desk for old time's sake (owwwwwwwww!) -- but the bottom line was Boston's bullpen stunk for that entire season and gave fans a collective heart attack in every big moment. Losing the title because our bullpen collapsed wasn't exactly a huge surprise to anyone who loved that team."
ie: Memphis' free throw shooting.

So when Crede stepped in with the bases juiced with two outs and Hawk and DJ started to go on about 'late inning Joe", I was thinking there is no way Crede is doing anything other than striking out. And....grand slam.
