Sadly, this is true. And no, I don't know how it happened (we don't get CSN+ in Iowa City).

Box scores tell me that Drew Gooden -- of all people -- had a season high in points with 24. Gordon had 19, while Deng and Hinrich pitched in with 14 and 13, respectively.

Between this victory on Tuesday, and the Monday results, documented on Blog a Bull: "Meanwhile...in the lamest playoff push in history, the Bulls gain ground by simply not playing, as the Sixers, Nets, and Hawks all lost," the Chicago Bulls are, you guessed it, 1/2 a game out of the 8-seed!

The victory moved the Bulls to 26-38... 12 games below .500.

Unreal.

Gooden was unreal last night from what I saw of the game (which wasn't much cause I was at work). He's actually a pretty useful player and is sort of the Bulls only big man that doesn't have a gimmick. Noah is crazy, Tyrus jumps high, all Wallace could do was play interior D and all Joe Smith could do was hit a 14 foot jumper. Gooden isn't anything special, but he's just a well-rounded player. I saw right after the trade was made that Gooden actually had a better rebounding rate than Wallace, which shocked me. Everyone knows Wallace sucks, but that was kind of th only thing he was (supposed) to be able to do.

Wow, to gain a half-game on three teams by doing nothing... that really does sum up the bottom half of the Eastern Conference, doesn't it? The Celtc, Cavs, Magic, and Pistons, and then... loads of crap.
