  • We haven't really touched on this at all, but the Chicago Blackhawks absolutely obliterated their chances for the post-season with four killer losses in the last four games against San Jose, Edmonton (overtime), Detroit, and Carolina. Next three games: @ Columbus (tonight at 6 p.m.), home against Calgary (Sunday at 2 p.m.), home against Washington (March 19 at 7:30 p.m.) All times are central...bitches. Basically, the Hawks are in a three-way tie for 10th place in the conference with Edmonton and Columbus. With 73 points, the Hawks are seven away from the 8th seed, which is currently held by Vancouver (80 points). With 11 games left, time is starting to run out on the Baby Hawks. Still, a slightly more respectable playoff race than the Bulls. Speaking of....
  • In his "8th's not enough" post, Matt from Blog a Bull touched on a point that's been in the back of my mind for a while: what's the point of limping into the 8th-seed if the Bulls draw the Celtics in the first round? He writes: "However I'd certainly feel better watching a competitive and likely animosity-filled series against Detroit, whereas the Bulls seem willing to roll over against Boston." It's a very relevant point. He goes on to say that if the Bulls played Detroit, Bulls fans could even try to convince themselves that the 3-1 record against the Pistons in the regular season actually meant something. But hey, I'd take that over some of the awful, awful losses the Bulls have had against the Celtics.
  • After showing interest initially, did the Bears miss out on the Chris Brown "sweepstakes"? (via Fanhouse) ... This is the bottom line: Cedric Benson is a no-good awful, Peterson can't be a feature back in the NFL, and Garrett Wolfe showed little promise to be more than a gimmicky third-down back at best. The Bears need a running back. But with the draft looking to fill holes at other important offensive positions (QB/O-Line), where is this running back coming from? Are we to believe the Bears are willing to give Benson another shot? Seriously? I don't know what this guy needs to do to irk the coaches into getting him out of the locker room as soon as possible, but he has to be close....right?

Other random stuff:
- Hell of a game between the Warriors and Suns last night. Absolutely beautiful basketball. Maybe I just watch too much of the East, but this game was just exhilarating, albeit not particularly competitive down the stretch. Still, great stuff.

- Am I the only one who enjoys the B.S. Report? I feel like I never seen opinions about it around the BLOG-O-SPHERE (capital letters!).

- RIP, Michigan men's basketball 2007-2008.

- There's always time to jump on the suddenly empty Washington State bandwagon.

- Tyler Hansbrough winning player of the year wouldn't be a crime by any means, but to deny Michael Beasly after obliterating Durant's numbers from last year would be kind of strange.

I hate Adrian Peterson, I like the BS Report (especially the one he did recently with Bucher. that was solid, i listened to the whole thing), and I love the Warriors.

I saw the comment you left on the new Warriors blog here, they're my second fav team as well. Maybe we should add them to the banner.
