USC -14 over Illinois
I wouldn’t lay this many points to any team other then USC. It is great Illinois was able to make the Rose Bowl, but unfortunately, they are probably playing the best team in the country. It’s tough giving two touchdowns, especially when Illinois is talking like they mean business and when you consider that the Trojans have had trouble against mobile quarterbacks, but USC is just too deep on both sides of the ball.
Sugar Bowl
Georgia -8 over Hawaii
Yeah Hawaii is defeated…good for them. They played nobody and barely beat a 2-7 Washington team in their last game. Georgia is loaded offensively, with one of the country’s five best quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford (a top-10 draft pick in 09 or 10) and with arguably the best freshman in college football with running Knowshon Moreno. I expected this line to be about as big as the Rose Bowl’s, so laying eight really isn’t that bad. Does anyone think a WAC team can really beat a proven powerhouse two straight years in a BCS game? I don’t.
Orange Bowl
Virginia Tech -4 over Kansas
As much as I love Mangeno, and trust me, he may be my favorite newcomer of 2007, four points just isn’t enough to coax me into taking the Jayhawks. Kansas also loses points here for employing Bill Self, and VT gains them because my guy ThaFranchise likes to call himself “Frank Beamer around this ho.”
Fiesta Bowl
West Virginia +8 over Oklahoma
Oklahoma is very good and it’s hard to justify picking the Mountaineers, especially without their head coach. But Rowdy Roddy Piper’s exit, um I mean Rich Rodriguez, just may rally the troops. The health of Pat White’s thumb is clearly the x-factor, but I just feel like West Virginia is too good not to take the points.
National Championship
Ohio State +4.5 over LSU
Ohio State accomplishes what it should have last season. Tressell won’t let the long layoff affect the Buckeyes like last year, where everyone but Ted Ginn came out flat en route to one nasty beatdown at the hands of Chris Leak and Jarvis Moss. Keep an eye on defensive end Vernon Gholston in this game, he’s really been skyrocketing up draft boards. If he has a big game, there is talk that he could go #1 to Parcells’ Dolphins. I know everyone thinks LSU is the cat’s pajamas, but don’t forget that they lost twice while in position to play in this game. Sure it was in a combined six overtimes, but great teams wouldn’t let that happen. They’re lucky to even be here.

hi, like reading your thoughts, just wondering do you think joe crede will stay on this team this year or not-------thanks
Crede will be back, i think, because he has greater value to the Sox then as a trading piece.

Hey rick, i was reading your post on the sun times website and i couldn't help but notice that some people got mad about the Gray comment (being white.) you should write back to them to shut their cracker mouthes. and if they were black, you basically know where i'm going with this.
