You know what’s kind of funny? The Bears have played positively awful this season, but an impressive win against the Seahawks would render the first nine games completely meaningless. If the Bears come out and blow the doors off Seattle, they have hope. At 5-5 they would be in the middle of the wildcard race with guys like Nathan Vasher and Tommie Harris starting to get healthy just when they need to be. It’s Grossman who makes this all possible as he tries to save the Bears season and his NFL career in Seattle in Sunday.

It’s been asked a lot this week why anyone would think that Rex is a different quarterback now then he was in Week 3. Honestly, I’m not sure anyone can answer that question. Maybe a few weeks on the bench settled Rex down, got his mind off his soon-to-expire contract, forgot about how he was going to explain poor performances to the media week after week, and forced him to just play football again. All I know is that I have a really good  feeling that Grossman is going to tear the Seahawks apart, chucking the ball all over the field like we saw him do the first seven games of last season. Ron Turner seemed to realize last week that he can’t continue to handcuff Grossman, and the results were pretty good for a guy who hasn’t played in forever. I still can’t get over how perfect that touchdown was to Berrian, and you can bet the Bears will have a few more of those plays waiting to be unleashed.

This game means so much for the Bears it’s not even funny. If they win and Rex plays well (which is what I think is going to happen), they’re right back in this thing, might have found a quarterback for next year, and, as stupid as it sounds, sort of have a good chance to make some noise in the playoffs. If they lose? This season is over and the Bears need to find a new quarterback.

Prediction: Bears 31, Seahawks 10

....and if they lose, just give the job to this guy already. It'll make me happy.
