Quick observations on Dallas as the Bears try to finally put together a decent game offensively.
Team: Dallas Cowboys
Record: 2-0
Last Game: W 37-20 at Miami

- Everyone bashed Romo all offseason, and all he's done so far is been one of the quarterbacks in the league after two games. It seems like as quickly as people anointed him the second coming of Aikman after an unreal start last year, they bailed on him once he started to struggle. Truth is, he's somewhere in between those two absolutes, but make no mistake, he is a capable NFL quarterback. Romo isn't Manning or Brady, but how many other quarterbacks would you rather start a team with then him? I just did a quick run through and decided he's probably the seventh or eighth best quarterback in the league...not bad for a guy from Eastern Illinois.
- Their defense hasn't been as dominating as people thought they would be through the first two games, allowing a total of 55 points already (the Bears have let up 24), but the Dallas D is still loaded with young talent. They should be one of the best defenses in the NFC for the foreseeable future. DeMarcus Ware is a great edge rusher in Wade Phillips' 3-4 scheme, and Roy Williams looks like he might have finally learned out how defend the pass. Grossman is going to have his hands full because there is no doubt Dallas will be blitzing him from every angle.
- Looking for the matchup of the day? How about T.O versus Peanut. T.O. has been great so far, averaging 92 yards a game, and not dropping any key passes yet. Tillman is the man who Peter King called the best big corner in the NFL, and is coming off a great game last week against the Chiefs. His diving deflection in the endzone leading to Daniel Manning's interception last week might have been one of the best plays I've ever seen a corner make.
Prediction: These are clearly the two best teams in the NFC right now. The Cowboys offense versus the Bears scorching D looks like a epic matchup, but the real deciding factor may be how Grossman can handle those blitzing linebackers and safety's of Dallas. If Turner unleashes Rex, he could have a huge game. If he doesn't, Rex could get killed. I don't have a strong feeling on this game either way, it's not like the loser is in any real trouble unless they get dominated, but I'll take the Bears cause they're at home.
