At 3:15am today, Lance Briggs totaled his $350,000 black Lamborghini on the Edens Expressway. After the crash, Briggs fled the scene and called the police. Apparently, he isn't hurt which is a good thing for the Bears because they're trying to win the Super Bowl. It's also good for Briggs because he has to play at least 75% of the snaps this year to make sure the Bears don't franchise tag him again next season.

Briggs was probably racing someone, and, as Foul Balls pointed out, was most likely drunk. If he was, the Commish could come down hard on him, as he's been known to do in the past. This is obviously really bad for the NFL, Briggs, and the Bears, but it doesn't seem so bad because of all the other stupid stuff sports people have been doing lately. I mean, he didn't fix basketball games, drown dogs, or make it rain. That might work in Briggs' favor when he meets with Goodell.

This is a serious offense Ricky because Briggs was doing all of the above in his car. That is why he crashed. He was doing 170mph, drowning a dog in a bucket next to him, beating on the little league world series games (which one of his cousins is a ump.), and making it rain on a stripper who was holdong the bucket of water. But hey he's not michael vick.

Oddly, both Rickhouse and Eddie Money are correct. The league, without pressure from the media, won't have to come down too hard on Briggs. But the reality of the situation is that what Briggs did is ten times worse than what Vick did - to say he could have seriously injured someone while driving 170 mph drunk is a severe understatement.

Good thing for Briggs the world is full of hypocrites! In all seriousness, I doubt he'll get anything more than a one-game suspension.

Even funnier was the footage on Chicago's NBC5 website...nothing like seeing the people who saw him drinking earlier providing a comment to the footage..

the sad fact is that the least damaging offense in football is drinking and driving. this would be a more serious offense if it werent for dogfighting, gun related offenses, and inciting riots in strip clubs. if a normal person did what briggs did they would be in jail. but then again sportstars are not normal people.

Lance called me after the crash. It was I who told him to flee, report it as stolen, and deny 'til he dies. The pussy caved. Anyway, I thought he needed money to support his kids, yet he's crashing 350k cars? He makes Chris Benoit look like a good father.
