Hockey Mailbag, part II.
This also gives me a good opportunity to say this blog might start to slow down a little now, maybe to around four posts a week. School is starting pretty soon, and I actually got a job (yikes) working for the Chicago Sun-Times doing a new prep sports website. I'm trying to recruit a few more people (that means you, Beau0 to keep this site going strong through school. Expect tons of Bears and Bulls opinions over the next few months, and hopefully a few more interviews.
Master Rickau,
As you might not be aware (since football season is approaching), hockeyWell, uh, I don't really know anything about hockey, so how about this big guy. You're the new TUP hockey expert. Write like 2 posts a month, and we'll even let you have your own sweet blogger moniker. Think about it and get back to me.
season is also closing in on us and our beloved Blackhawks have made some
interesting off-season moves. The one that I question the most was the
trade with Phoenix, sending Radim Vrbata to the Coyotes for this guy named
Kevyn Adams? Vrbata was our number 2 scorer last year (but that is also not
saying much I guess).
As for young talent, the Blackhawks seem to be pretty stacked. Toews was a
stud at North Dakota and having him on a line with Havlat or Ruutu would be
exciting. Hopefully Cam Barker will stick around all year and be a dominant
defenseman. Mr. Number 1-Pat Kane- might not play in the NHL yet due to his
size but I'm willing to bet he makes an appearance just as Staal did last
year. There is also this David Bolland kid who is supposed to be a stud but
is not expected to start in the league. There is also Chicago's own, Danny
Richmond. I've seen this kid play and even been on the ice with him when we
were younger and he can flat out skate.
The newly acquired veteran Robert Lang should also add some spark to the
roster, along with signees Yanic Perreault and Patrick Sharp. Other
interesting signings include Magnus Johansson, a guy out of the Swedish
Elite League, and a few entry level contracts that seem like they have no
potential. Personally, I'd love to see Roenick and Chelios back for a
reunion. I'm curious to see what you think of our Hawks (since my goal is
to make the top of your web-site say: Following the Chicago Bears, Bulls,
White Sox, AND BLACKHAWKS along with the future stars of professional
sports).

Rick,
I've got an idea regarding me writing hockey for you. Drop me an e-mail or somethin'.
Congrats on the job. My first choice as a contributor to your website would be Jack Bauer. But that's impossible because he's overqualified, and fictional. On the other hand, I would like to volunteer my exceptional services.

Congrats on the new job. That's a helluva opportunity.
